  • Visibilities - Salford Museum And Art Gallery /New Adelphi Exchange Gallery

    Visibilities brings together works from the Collection to explore and examine who and what is represented in our contemporary collecting, and how these visibilities shape what we think of as our stories of now.

    After almost two years working closely with the University of Salford Art Collection, Team Assistant Rowan Pritchard curates Visibilities, unpicking what shapes the Collection today, who is visible within it, and what stories the Collection tells.

    Paint Edgy: Contemporary British Painting & Guests is an exhibition drawn from painters from throughout the U.K. and will include accompanying events to promote discussion and interest in current issues in contemporary painting in the context of North Lincolnshire. Curated and coordinated by Judith Tucker and Linda Ingham. The selection of paintings includes members of ‘Contemporary British Painting’ in dialogue with the work invited painters from closer to the locale of the Ropewalk Gallery.   • Living With Art We Love, The Devonshire Collection, Chatsworth House, Bakewell DE45 1PP

    I am thrilled to have five of my paintings included in Living With Art We Love, an exhibition of paintings, sculpture, furniture, ceramics and textiles.from the personal collection of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire.

    Specially selected objects include paintings, sculpture, furniture, ceramics and textiles. Contemporary artworks by Michael Craig Martin, Edmund de Waal, Natasha Daintry and Felicity Aylieff – artists actively collected and commissioned by the Duke and Duchess – are displayed alongside historic art from the Devonshire Collections rarely seen in public, including major works by Poussin, Rembrandt and Boltraffio.

    The exhibition also features a special section, ‘Freud at Chatsworth’, which is dedicated to Lucian Freud in his centenary year. On display will be all the artist’s paintings, drawings and prints in the Devonshire Collections, as well as two paintings on loan and returning to Chatsworth.

    The exhibition celebrates the artistic journey of New Light’s award winning artists over the last ten years. Prize winners from every New Light Prize Exhibition since 2011 have been invited to submit work for inclusion, guaranteeing an exhibition of exceptional quality. The exhibition will feature work by Nat Quinn, Josie Jenkins, Mandy Payne, Christopher Cook and 2020 winner Joanna Whittle, amongst a stellar cast of 25 artists. Entries include paintings, prints, ceramics and sculpture across a range of disciplines with subjects from the familiar to raising awareness of devastating global issues.   • CONFLUENCE : SHEFFIELD

    A group exhibition of new paintings and sculpture by 10 Sheffield based contemporary artists: Richard Bartle, Anthony Bennett, Al Daw, Paul Evans, Seiko Kinoshita, Mandy Payne, Sarah Villeneau, Jo Whittle, Myfanwy Williams and Sean Williams. This show celebrates the return of work from the recent Confluence exhibition at the Herrick Gallery in London in October.

    We will be having an opening evening on Thursday 20th December (6pm - 8pm) (all welcome)

  • 'Park Hill Re- imagined' - Scottish Queen, Park Hill, Sheffield S2 5QX

    This exhibition represents the on-going work of the Imagine project in Park Hill. Imagine is a five-year project funded by the ESRC/AHRC’s Connected Communities programme to think about imagining better communities and making them happen. The exhibition shares residents and ex-residents’ perspectives in a number of formats: film, photos, quotations, drawings and archive material. This small exhibition is a precursor for a more extensive one to be held in 2016 at Weston Park Museum.
